noob downgrade or upgrade for FFVII?

a noob question but gotta ask. I've had a fat psp w/v2.60 for a while now, havent done much with it but now I've been reading that it can be downgraded n stuff. I bought FFXII and it requires v.3.73. Ive been looking around for info on what would be better, but no luck :(, to keep this to downgrade and use homebrew apps n stuff or buy a new psp (not that easy tho) to play FFXII? or someone know how i would go about to play it w/firmware 2.60 or even if i can? any info id appreciate

i recommend just downgrade it and upgrade to a custom firmware.

Here is a nice guide. U can use the 2.60 and up downgraders. If, u cant then use pandora.

so that would let me run homebrew apps and stuff. but as for playin the latest games, i havent read about a dualboot for an original sony firmware to play the new games while partioned to a custom firmware, basically no hope yet to play version 3.73 n up games on custom firmware?

once u get to 3.90 M33 custom firmware. U can play games that require 3.90 and lower

thanks. sorry i should have looked around more, i just foundout that "to play this game you need a custom firmware psp! tested on 3.71 m33-4". so it looks like the best way to downgrade would be to use a pandora's battery and get the downdater file from another psp. so with having 2.60 i would need to upgrade to 2.71 as said in mrgooey's guide then downgrade to a 1.5 in order to upgrade to 3.90 m33 ?
