Is a 25W soldering iron good for use on the xbox 360's motherboard?

Soon im gonna be installing a lighting mod for my 360.I need to solder the wires of my cathode lights on the back of the 360s motherboard so I can have a provided power of 12v.If I dont want to destroy my 360,is a 25W soldering iron ideal for this kinda job.It seems like its just the right one after reading a few guides.And also if you can please take a look at this tutorial here,

See the 2nd,3rd,and 6th pictures,what happend to the 2 other wires?Im thinking that there is still 2 left he hasnt soldered on there.

yeah it should be fine. But that's an big risk for some lights i say. Make sure you have everything ready like flux, solder bulb...

Yah Ill make sure.You dont need a solder bulb for this procedure.By the way Im gonna be getting this kit right here

Is this good for all Im gonna need?It seems so..Im actually gonna except the risk cause to my knowledge,if I can just get the solder onto the places Ill be soldering on to.. it should make putting on the wires much easier and cleaner.

I've heard several times to not go above a 15 watt soldering iron when dealing with any console motherboards, but that's just what I've heard. Plus they're cheap, $10 at Radioshack.

Yep. I've been using the same 15 watt iron from RS for mod chips for the past 8 years.

I read some stuff about soldering and it says to maintain below 40Watts.So 25 W should be okay.Its the perfect one.Ive seen guides using 15W irons for changing the colors of the 360s RF board.BUt 25W is a good minimum to have in order to solder wires on to the power source.

if this guy says he is using a 15 watt, you should probablly follow his footsteps and do the same, at least you will know you are safe. he knows what he is talking about.

I use a Weller iron minature pencil 12W,this is what I have been using and it works.You might want to pick up some tip tinner as well to keep your solder iron in good condition also.

I wish I could get my hands on a Weller 15 W iron in stores.Weller is a good quality brand for soldering products and is known for it.But most peoples recommendations and use is a 15W so Ill go with that.
