Can I install 3.71 M33-2 on my PSP version 2.71

I am confused by all the different threads I have read regarding custom firmware. I currently have a fat psp running firmware 2.71 and using Devhook to load ISO's/CSO's. I now want to play the newer games out but Im unsure about upgrading as all the threads I see relate to installing custom firmware on 1.5 or custom firmware already installed. Some also mention that it depends on the motherboard you have.

Please can someone let me know how I can play the new ISO/CSO games on my PSP.

No I just have the sample disk that came with the psp.

Ok is there any way you can get the Lumines disk? If you ahve it you can upgrade to a 3.50 fw and then use the lumines downgrader and go to a 1.5 fw and then upgrade to a 3.71 m33-2. Howerver I reccommend a 3.80m33-5. It is new and still has the best features without removing things like remote play.

Ok thanks. Ill have a look around to see if I can get it. I believe it has to be an old version as the newer ones were patched. Is that right.
