Xbox 360 switching off LCD TV

Hi, I've got the arcade version of the xbox 360 and have connected it to my Samsung full HD LCD tv via the official component cable. Often while I'm playing, my TV switches off and then back on immediately. During this transition, a lot of wierd vertical coloured lines appear on the screen. I've sent my tv for servicing to Samsung but they sent it back saying that the xbox is creating this problem. I have no issues watching regular cable on this tv. This happens only when playing games. Any ideas?

i am not an expert in this area... however, it sounds like to me your xbox is playing a resolution your tv dosnt like and it is trying to change it. HD's like to turn off and on if they dont like things i noticed. again i'm not an expert in this area, but i would try changing your screen settings on the xbox. and if that dosnt do it try changing your tv as well. but i believe the problem lies within your xbox.

Hi homesick, thanks for giving it a shot.

My LCD TV is a full HD TV. The Samsung M8 series. I've connected my TV to the Xbox 360 via component cable for 1080p. The games work well at that resolution but sometimes cause the screen to go off and come back on immediately. The engineer from Samsung tried changing the input board (the IC which has all the input plugs) but that didn't work. I did a search on other forums and found just one other guy in Australia who had the same problem.

I'm stumped!
