i am trying to rip pirates of the caribbean, but when i tryed to use super dvd ripper to rip it it said that "decoder not ready Choose DVD or VOB file first" and i already selected the part i wanted. so i then used dvd decrypter, but this put it into a bunch of different files, and i cant play any of them, so i was wondering how do i play this? and is their a better program i should be using or somthing, or is their a way to use super dvd ripper. thanks for all your help in advance

You don't mention what end result you are looking for. It's always helpful to provide that info when asking a question.

If all u want to do is have some VOB's to watch on yer HD, use DVD Decrypter in ifo mode to pull the movie only off the DVD. Afterwards, delete the files u don't want.

If u wish to burn a backup, rip it with decrypter in FILE mode and compress with DVD Shrink, or rip and compress with shrink. Tying yerself to one software that u can't get to work is very unwise. Broaden your tools a bit and have more success.

When I copied pirates, I ripped with decrypter in ifo mode and compressed with DVD2One.

There is no problem so big, that a brick placed against the proper skull cannot fix =)

DVD Shrink is not suitable for ripping if you intend to create AVI files, as in this case. Neither is it suitable for any other kind of burning than for DVD files made with DVD Shrink. It is a very good "free all-in-one tool", the best one I know of, but in this case it is not the tool of choice.

As already stated many times above, DVD Decrypter or SmartRipper are good tools for creating AVI:s, and in the divx section under guides http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/ you'll find instructions how to do this.

VirtualDub might be a good tool for editing the AVI:s one you have them.

Have fun, guys!

k DVD Shrink is great DVD Decrypter is not good for dvd cause everyone usually 80 % of the time is to big to burn. DVD Decrypter is good for games but thats it i think.

ok DVD Shrink reboot your comp - > open shrink - >open disk - > back up - > then put in a blank dvd +r make sure its a good brand name i use maxell. THen it ejects it and wallla !!!!!

also make sure that the disk is clean w/o heavy scratches light ones are ok.that might be your prob.
