If it's a Western Digital, then it could work! I bought a 120GB 2.5" off of ebay for $50, and flashed it to work in the 360! I don't know though, if it's possible to do it with a 30GB! But ya, if you bought a 120GB WD1200BEVS HDD, you could flash that to work in the 360!

Unless someone has written up something on how to do that, then it's not possible! I just know it's possible on Western Digital Drives, because someone rote up a program to do it!

You mean the update so that you can play files from a PC? I haven't heard of an update that you can play from a Disc, and I don't know if it's possible to work on the 360 Memory Unit? I think you need to have the HDD!

I thought the update was so that you can play .avi from any source?

Well ya that's what I meant. To play it from any source (i.e. PC, External HDD, USB).
