Problem playing DIVXCopy Platinum DVDs on GE DVD Player

Some DVDs I have burned using Divx Copy Platinum will play on my Sony DVD player but sometimes do and sometimes don't play on my GE DVD player. I tried one disk this afternoon that played on the GE player the first time I tried but five minutes later when I tried again the dvd player said the same disk was incompatible. I assume the GE DVD player is screwed up but perhaps someone more knowledgeable can give me more informed device.
