Cucusoft Ultimate "Output file size"

fairly simple question here if anybody knows what I'm talking about.

Just purchased Cucusoft's Ultimate DVD converter suite and for the life of me can't figure out how to get the files I rip from dvd's to iPod format to come out at the size I want. When I hit "encode" I get the window that pops up with the slider, left side being small size yet bad quality and right side being large size/high quality. Each time I try and leave the slider where it says the estimated output file size is 700mb's (habit) and its not once come out that size. Is there a bitrate calculator out there that can help me with this because obviously the program doesn't take into account the length of the video and such because of 4 video's, none has come near 700 mb's. So far 1 1gb file, 2 400's and a 500mb file.
