its impossible to brick, all u have to do is make a pandora or buy a tool battery off of ebay, and make a magic memorystick. and when a menu pops up, just hit X to start installing CFW 3.71 M33. its that simple. then go on to dark_alex.org, and look for a downgrader. good luck.

no u don't have to buy a datel tool battery u can hardmod ur battery into pandora but will still have to buy a new battery in the end to do stuff. so either way ur gonna have to buy a new battery. i suggest since ur not good with hardmodding just buy a tool bat off of ebay. its the only way, or u will be bricked for ever...i know it sucks...

right if you realy dont want to buy a cfw psp or buy a datel tool battery then there only 1 other way and its the riskiest and cna be reverted back to a normal battery.
this is the hard mod method where you have to cut parts of the battery [link
there is no way of genericly downgrading/installing cfw on a slim.
also the slim cant run fw below 3.60 so not downgrading to 1.50

seriously, use the guide. chances of you getting a fat psp below 3.51 is low.
ANY PSP running 3.51 or higher MUST USE pandora's battery and magic memory stick.
if you're not gonna spend the money on a datel TOOL battery or hardmodding your battery, then you're not gonna get custom firmware. all those generic downgraders and exploits on the fat psp can cause bricks. pandora's battery ELIMINATES bricking because it's an unbricker. even sony stated that it's the same method they use to unbrick psp's sent in.

i would, but i love my psp too much to give it up...it has CWcheat onit, IRshell 3.9, custom XMB themes, a portal of windows vista on it, its running 3.90 M33-3 and more! its worth about $375.00 with all the hacks and upgrades to it and its worth too much to trade for a slim. sorry. :(

ill put it blunt to you Nblufire2
basicly you have bought a device for £129 and now want to mod it because it boring so you now find out you need to buy something thats about £10 and can be boverd to speed that much so you then want to trade it in. what will happen is anywhere you trade it into you will loose £20+ as everything after its puchuse from a shop will loose 10%+ of its value.
if you ask me £10 is a small price to pay for what you will be able to do with it after its finished.
i realy cant see why £10 is so ridiculous
if you want me to ill find one for about £5 for you
got this it converts any psp battery into a tool battery
or this - memory card likly to be fake and i think its 1gb not 8gb
those are 2 cheap ones i found

first, you said in the first post, you don't have a fat psp. now you're saying that you have a custom firmware psp all along? why don't you just use your psp and make a pandora's battery.
i'm pretty sure mods will strike lightning after reading the last post.
