hi, i've been thinking about getting an xbox-360 for a while now then getting it modded, but i have heard the xbox-360 have had many hardware failures so i decided not to. But now a new version has been released and im wondering if it has any problems, because if i get it modded then i lose my warranty.

what should i do

well, nothing will ever be perfect. So that idea is out. If you "flash" it there is a way to keep the warrenty sticker in tact. google it. and for "what should i do" if you loose your warrenty and screw it up... well there will be tips and tricks for trying to "temporarily" fix mostly every problem.

If your worried about screwing up your xbox than dont flash it. Simply that.

High risk, High reward.

SICK WIT IT

Well,if you try to mod/flash or do anything, there is a way of removing the warranty sticker without leaving RESIDUE and applying it back on so if it does get the 3 RROD you can install all the stock parts back in,(if having to do so),and microsoft might take it in.THeres barely a chance.BUT dont worry alot about it.On ebay, people sell their warranty stickers for like 20 bucks so anytime yours gets ruined just buy off ebay or something. If you dont know what your doing, get an experienced freind or modder to do the job for you and you wont have to put up with all the worries of ur 360 getting messed up or something like that.If you buy a 360,then if you want for the good revisions to come out so called "Jasper 360's with the 65nm chip and better components, wait for that.OR buy a 360 now and make or buy a cooling mod of your own for it.By the way,JASPERS WIll start shipping sometime during sep 2008.I have more to say but dont feel like typing.

I would say it's low risk, high reward, if you don't rush into it. Do a lot of research before hand. Memorize the steps. And just don't be stupid in general.
