i used dvd shrink to make a copy of into the wild. it wont play in my dvd player and have tried other dvd players and it didnt work in theirs either. i can watch it on my computer though. i have about 4 other movies that i have the same problem with. any ideas?
Playability problems in standalone players can be caused by a few different things.
1. Crappy/cheap media. Make sure you're using the good blank media. Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim, or Sony.
2. Burn speed can affect the quality as well. Burn at 6x or 8x max.
3. Player compatibility with blank media. Some players can be picky about media brand and whether or not it's -R or +R format discs. -R's are widely accepted in most players. Most newer ones should accept +R's as well though. If using +R's booktype (if your burner supports the function) to DVD-ROM to improve compatibility.
Also, Dvd Shrink cannot handle most new movies by itself. Use DvdFab Hd Decrypter to rip. Dvd Shrink to compress (transcode) and ImgBurn to burn. All freeware.
