Is it worth it to transcode VC1 to H264?

I have a movie in full hd which is divided in 5 TS files. They're VC1 and they are about 18GB. If I go through the hassle of transcoding them to H264, how much would I save more or less?
I know it would take a very long time, especially since it's full HD, but a two hour movie would take about how long to transcode on a Pentium D 3GHz?
