i have a psp-1001k
i have an IC6001 motherboard its in copper letters upside down on the left side its the fat blackpsp.
i updated the firmware to the sony official 3.95 firmware wich i believe was a mistake?
i want to be able to play games from the memory card and use homebrew software. if the hombrew software is going to be a big deal i can do with out it.
so what do i do?
i really do not know what do. i have money so i can buy some of the stuff i have seen mentioned like pandora battery i also read it can be made?
wich firmware is the best to use?
i would like the newer features but if they can be attained through homebrew then i wouldnt mind giving up the official stuff.
is it possible to have the newer features like the 3.95 cfw and still play games from memory card?
any help would be apreciated. im completely new at this.
The first link will help you, I suggest you follow it. You will need to purchase a Pandora battery, seen here. http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.12472 You can use the battery as normal after, if you want, but it requires a program to be run, which I can link you to if you want.
ok so the fist link will help me change my 3.95 official to a 3.71 m33-2? and for the pandora battery i read you can convert your original battery into one then change it back from the same psp or do i need cfw already installed? and after i get the cfw what do i do next do i upgrade or down grade to a different cfw firmware if yes wich one. can you link me to a guide for putting psp games on a memory stick/converting and emulation .
You can only make a pandora battery from a psp with CFW already installed on it... so If you don't know anyone with a CFW psp then you will have to buy the Battery Leadbaron linked (Tool Battery). It's an already modded pandora battery so you won't have to make one yourself.
As for the firmware thing, its up to you which one you want to install. Some people say 3.71 M33 works best with homebrew games but I couldn't really tell you, i'm in the same situtaion you're in on the CFW thing.
Im a total noob on the CFW thing and There might be another way to make a pandora battery but i dont think there is... So if someone wants to correct me go right ahead. :P
The stickies also have all of the guides you will need to create a pandora battery/install homebrew games on your psp/and install CFW.
Pick the console on the left, and pick an emulator. You need to find ROMS yourself, as they are copyrighted materials. Try to find them in the 3.XX kernel (when you download, only one folder, not 2).
This is my exact situation! Got a PSP off a friend with 3.95 firmware, but not sure about the motherboard, not a TA-082 anyway.
I can mod my battery to be a Pandora right? But do I need a soldering iron? I opened up the battery today but was following a guide for a slim PSP (accident) and have now closed it up. I'd rather just open it than buy a Pandora battery but soldering is a bit much.
So am I right in thinking that all I need for homebrew/ISO support is the Pandora battery and an edited memory stick? (i have a 2gb one)
you need custom firmware the pandora battery and memory stick just help you install and if you hard mod you original battery into a pandora it cant be used as a regular battery anymore
unless you unhardmod it wich is risky. im going to buy that one that lead baron posted its 10.50$ freeshipping also
follow that 1st guide also thats in my 1st post
also in that guide theres a link to how to hard mod a battery just look for it
