I get the concept and all,and what its for but I have a question. Can I use this http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.12472 which I beileve is an already created Pandora's battery,to downgrade my psp from OFW 3.95 to whatever I want?(whats best for playing games btw?).

I got a free psp from my girl(used to be hers) and I ordered the memory card, came today, didn't expect it for quite some time though.DIdn't do my hw and upgraded my psp to play demos to help pass the time, didn't know I screwed myself by doing so though.I only have access to 1 psp,and a 32 mb memory card. Will that along with this file be enough for me to downgrade my firmware?

If not is there any other way to do this? like using an emulator or something of the sort? I Feel like a real dummy for upgrading my psp I didn't think it'd be a problem, now I can't even use it mainly for what I wanted it for.The only other thing I can think of is switching with a friend but I think he upgraded his firmware too cuz his first game was Crisis Core.Anyway any help would be great.

order the battery, and get a bigger memory stick. for the sole purpose of the magic memory stick, get a 512 stick.

after getting those, use THIS guide to get custom firmware.

ps2: v7 scph-39001 - independence exploit - hdloader 0.8c - maxtor 300gb hdd
(+[__]%) psp slim ta-085v1: 6.60 PRO B10
wii (powered by bootmii/priiloader): 4.1u - d2x v10beta53-alt (base 56) - configurable usb loader v70r51/devolution r188 - wd scorpio black 7200rpm 320gig w/ ams venus ds2 enclosure

got a whole lot more to list . . .

using a 4gig is a 50/50 chance; it either works or it doesn't. memory stick size should be 256mb to 2gigs.

i advise people on purchasing a separate memory stick and battery for the sole purpose of pandora's battery and magic memory stick. you're able to store it away incase a brick happens, or people you know want custom firmware.

even if you didn't update, this method is the safest. main purpose is to fix bricked psp's, but it's being used to update to the latest custom firmware.

before you fork out cash on another memory stick, use the 4gig first. if it works, then it works.

but if you brick and your psp is the only memory stick reader you have, you're pretty much screwed, and have to get a memory stick reader to create the magic memory stick. which is why i suggest having a separate memory stick, and keeping it as a magic memory stick. you're more safe that way.

oh ok alright, but I dont like the chances of 50/50,if it didn't work that would seriously piss me off cuz the psp would be bricked.I really do wish I had left it at 2.0 so I could just upgrade it with better chances. But then there was always a chance of me bricking it anyway,to bad psp can't be as simple as the nintendo DS or ps2.Thanks for the helpful info though.

the 50/50 chance means the memory stick with either work or won't work when you put in pandora's battery; you'll just have a black screen for 20 or so seconds or you'll be able to see a menu. it won't brick the psp when you use a normal battery.

2.0 is the easiest to downgrande because it only requires certain files. but it's scary because you don't know if it worked or not; there's no progression bar. i had to downgrade my cousin's 2.0 to make the original pandora's battery and magic memory stick, and it was my first time doing it. luckily, i did everything right.

Ohhh ok, that makes it sound a hell of a lot better.I may just do what you said and order that, its only 10 bucks with free shipping, hmm I would really pray it works. If not then I'll either buy a new memory stick after I get a job,or just wait for another downgrader.I'll giving that battery a shot I guess.I'll just get a bundle to save money.

newegg is a reputable online retailer, with excellent customer service. i highly doubt they sell fakes.

hmmm cool.Do you know if DX is known to though? Cuz there stuff is really cheap compared to a lot of other sites out there. So I was curious,I could spend like 20 bucks for the Pandoras Battery and the Card there, with free shipping.

If your not certain,i'll just go with newegg I suppose.
