Basically I have a backup of mario kart wii and have bought dvd-r dl Verbatim discs. However from what I have read they do not need to be dvd-r dl and can be dvd-r, if I were to burn the backup onto dvd-r dl would it still work ?

As of now the only dual layer game is SSBB. The rest of the wii games can be burn using a single layer disc.

i dont games that are meant for single layer would work on dual layer, people have great success with verbatim. Also i have had success with sony, TDK, HP (not so good). I have had complete failers with Compusa brand DVD's they were really really old back when dvds were $1+ and friend got me 50, i still have most and they are garbage. Basically i have found that name brand discs work.

I think the sonys and TDK and verbatim all work perfect....
