Greetings all. I found a PSP, seems to be in great shape, bought aditional accessories for it, and now I'm trying to adjust it. I scrolled through tuts on this site, and through tuts on psp3d, but they all eventually deal with "default" psps and with people who remember what they did to their psps. However, I "can't" do anything with it because I can't figure out at what stage this psp actually is. I'm also not sure wether it's slim or fat, if it helps, there's a rounded speaker on the bottom left side, and the backside has a wide silver circle around the PSP title. Also, I can charge it via PC (That's slim one, right?).

Now, it's a 1-gig memory stick (Default id' say). It has a devhook inside which says 0.46. It had a type of umd demo disc, but I got rid of it. There's no umd inside the memory stick. The folders I found were as here:
- dh with subdirectories 150F, 271, KD, and a devhook.ini
- GAME with subdirectories 310oeflasher, 310oeflasher%
- ISO with no files/directories of particular interest
- MP_ROOT with subdirectories 100ANV01 and 100AMV01

--- PSP with subdirectories:
MUSIC, PHOTO, DATA, VIDEO and SYSTEM all empty and:
GAME with following:
%_SCE_DH_ENG,
__SCE_DH_ENG,
DH_ESC2XX,
UPDATE;

Now, when I go to system information, it says sofware version 2.71. When I run devhook and look at it's bios(or app, whatever), it says Firmware -> 1.50 up to 2.71, although when I select it doesn't really do anything, so I have no clue at what stage it is.

I'm trying to set it so that it runs Chrono Cross (which, by the way, I have original), where there's a notation about that game requiering Dark Alex's 3.03 OE.

NOW, I'd do it myself - but I have absolutely no clue in what stage is this PSP, and I don't want to go messing with this already pretty fragile software components.

PLEASE, my goal is to make it run this Chrono Cross, and my questions are as following:
1) Is this fat or slim PSP
2) What was exactly installed/updated on this PSP by the previous owner, in what stage is this
3) Can you type down the process of making this psp have 3.03 and run Chrono Cross, or atleast give some kind of link to some kind of tut about updating this PSP. I found bunch of tuts, but they all talk about some kind of downgrades-upgrades, switches, semi-installations, and all have these BIG BOLDED RED warnings about SLIM, so I'm really affraid of doing something as long as I don't know what exactly to do. Don't want to screw it up.

I'll keep an eye on this and will attempt to co-operate.

When I looked at the devhook I had an option to "return to 1.50". I used that because I read it's a type of unbricker-donwgrader. Now it says software version 1.50. Did I do ok?
