search through past posts for details, but briefly.

You need a bios on the Xbox that supports this, then you will need a dashboard which can configure your xbox network card (ip address, which must be in the same range as you PC).

I've got evolutionX and I burned it onto a cd/rw and also onto a dvd and the problem now is that the xbox says it can't read either of these.
It has played a movie with the same type of dvd but wont with this program on it.
I have set everything up by following the tutorials but there is no info on this problem.(that I can find)
thx in advance.

Right, we need info if you need help.

What Bios are you running?

What dashboard are you running?

Have you set it to configure an IP address?

When you say you can't read the CDRW / DVD, what are you trying to do? Flash the Bios? Install a Dash?

A guy just put the excutor chip put in the xbox and that's it.He didn't put anything else on it.
It looks exactly the same as it did before but it can now play burnt games.
Everything was original before the chip was installed.
I am now trying to put evolutionx dashboard on so I got the program evolutionx and unzipped it to find a heap of files. The tutorial said to change the IP in the .ini file as well as the pc so I did that.
I burnt the evolutionx files onto both a cd/rw and dvd and the xbox says it can't read it.
I have used 2 different brands of medium but still nothing.
thx in advance.

wait... you say you have a chip in it?? are you sure because i've never known anyone leave a chip in it without putting the evox dashboard software in it
also its a good idea to find out what dvd drive you had in your xbox eject the xbox and if you have an arch shaped openin on the tray its a thompson (crap) if you have a key shaped openin you have a philips (ok) if you have two small holes either side of the shaped openin you have a samsung (best) thomspon won't read cdr and i believe the xbox can be fusy about some cdrws aswell check which drive you have first then you can check around to see which media peeps have used

Hi, thx for being so patient.
if I am facing the front of the xbox and press eject - looking down where the dvd/game goes, it looks like a U shape so i think it might be a crappy thomson...lol

Damn....lol
I have used verbatim cd/rw and a no name dvd( the dvd played a movie no worries).
I just copied what was in the evolutionx zip with Nero and it said it was an iso.I just burned it as data at 2x.
I fully erased the cd/rw before burning this.
Can you tell me exactly what files need to be on the cd that the xbox needs.I just put everything that was in the zip on there.
thx.

craxtion is easy to use if you install it properly lots of peeps can't however there is a file in the download that says to copy files to the window/system. 32 and alot dont i think you only get that problem under xp as it doesnt have the aspi drivers either anyway thats a different story lol
anyway you should be ok burning as an image as long as you do a full erase good luck let me know how you get on :0)
