Hey all, long time reader of the site first time poster!!
Was wondering if you could help me out with something.
Recently enough i've gotten into flashing 360s and I've done 5 so far (2 benq, 3 samsungs, all using dosflash and firmtool) with no problems. Somebody gave me a 360 yesterday that was flashed long ago and hasnt been working for a while apparently , (wasn't flashed by me BTW!) that was giving 1002 error (one flasing red light on the bottom right quadrant) with nothing showing up on screen
Ok so here's what I've tried so far and the results i got.
1st of all i tried to flash it like i normally do using firmtool and dosflash with ixtreme 1.4, it did say something about spoofing a ms25 drive which is strange because its a ms28.
Result: same as before
2nd I tried replacing the sata cable of the Dvd drive.
Result: a bit of success! was now giving a E66 error code on screen
Then I tried to manually hex edit ixtreme 1.4 , replacing 4000 - 4200 lines with the equivalent lines from the firmware that was initially on the drive when i got it (not the original firmware)
Result: Seemed like full success! But sadly no! The xbox now boots up and gets to an update screen (it doesnt reach the dash board) It says it looking for an update disc.I put in a game to see if it could update off that but it cant. When i put the game in it sounds like its been recognized as a game, its spins fast like any game would for about 5-6 seconds then slows down.
I'm kinda stumped to be honest! Can any one suggest something that i could do? Thanks in advance!
Rang the guy he reckoned Halo 3 was the game that initiated the update that caused the problems and sure enough popped halo in and it loaded up the Dash
it still had the red light when it was giving me E66
No you might think im a bit stupid but that cable is working in another xbox now?! It was definitly not showing any error on the screen before i swapped teh cables around so i really dont know what the story was!?
