Hi,

My friend bought a moded Japanese WII for me and we don't know what kind of mochip inside. I checked the firmware is 3.1J V1 becasue I put in wii fit japanese version and it didn't ask for update. I download Mario Kart and burned with brickbrocker. The game shows up in game channel. When I click on play and got a black screen and wii was locked up. I unplug it andpower back and it looks like back to normal. I am not sure if it is semi-brick. I read from other thread and it looks like Mario Kart has 3.1J V2 update. Is it safe for me to update with the game disc even without knowing about modship? Or should I update it using Mario SSM first? I believe these two games have the same update. Thank you very much for your help. I really want to play this game.
