I have been reading this forum for a while and have decided to get a 360, but I should probably get a falcon ver because of less rrod problems. I know you are supposed to look for the lot #, team who built it, etc.. Is this info stated on the xbox 360 box anywhere so I can look at them all before I buy it? most of these "falcon identifying" posts were back in the winter so maybe all new 360's sold as of now have the falcon chip set. I was going to wait for the newer one(jasper) this (supposed) August, but I figure if I get an rrod I will send it to MS and they will most likely update it with the newer parts that the jasper ver has...
You can't really go by that 203w label, because I've seen plenty that said 203w on the label, but had a 175w power brick in the box. Anything with a lot number over 740 will have a Falcon. I can't imagine anywhere having a non falcon still on the shelves at this point.
If you go to Wal-Mart you wil be guaranteed a Falcon or even the new one. They go through stock like it's hot.
I remember 2 years ago when I was buying my xbox, saw all them on shelve were ms25 by lot number and team code, but i wasn't ready to buy, a week later when I was ready to buy and they were all ms28. Oh well, ms28 is fine too.
noone has any idea what teh lot number would be for the newer model do they? Does anyone know if it will have a different powersupply wattage or anything else to go by so we know when they are out?
