I have been having this problem getting ps1 games on my psp, can somebody help me? Okay here the issue: I am trying to get ps1 games on my psp, I upgrades from 3.52m33-4 to 3.90m33-3. I ripped nhl 98 and ncaa football 01 using iso buster, and extracted the track 01 from raw data .bin *iso. I used gui popstation 221 at speed 9, and selected the rom. I did not customize eboot. Once that was done I deleted the iso file from the folder, so that there were just the keys and the eboot file, I put the folder in my game folder... Then I did two things, I tried running the with the 3.80m33 popsloader, enabling it and then I tried it without the popsloader, both times same thing, I get the ps logo screen and then black. I did both those on play with flash, and got black, the next time with plugins I selected 3.71 like you said on your website and it froze completely on both games. I ripped both games 3 times, the nhl 98 disc had a few scratches, the other one was flawless. The strange thing is I did the same exact thing with madden 97 and nba in the zone 2 and had no problems, the games played fine, other than the audio on madden is out during the videos. I didn't use plugings to get those to work. I would appreciate anything at all you can do to explain any of these problems

The problem is likely to be one of two things...

1. Your POPSLOADER isn't installed correctly. Different PS1 are most compatible with different firmwares, so you need to try the games with a few to get the best on. Try reinstalling POPSLOADER using acidy's guide, HERE. Once installed, use THIS link to find the best POPS files to use with your games.

2. You have not ripped the iso/created the eboot correctly. I wrote THIS guide to help people convert games using a program called ICETEA. Hopefully that should help you out as well.

Hopefully one of those should solve your problem :)

So I tried your advice on ncaa 01 which was the only game I had handy, tried all the popsloaders, all of them actually worked this time, but before I started the game it always froze for 10 seconds and then shutdown. Maybe it is a rip issue, I haven't ripped a new one since your advice. Do all ps1 games work? or are there some that have problems, which thats what it looks like from the given list. Is the image burn and icetea, better than isobuster and pop station? I appreciate your advice, at least I am seemingly making some sort of progress

As with any emulation, there will never be 100% perfect compatibility. There will always be some issues.
I can only personally recommend the IMGBURN and ICETEA combo for eboot conversion, as they seem to be the best out of the programs i have used. I have never had any problems with any eboot i have created with the program.

If you have followed the POPSLOADER installation guide exactly and are still having problems, it may be an issue with the way you are converting them. Give the ICETEA guide a try, and try loading with the 3.71 POPS files, hopefully that will solve your problems :).

On Icetea, what do I put for the game ID, it won't let me move on without it

Assuming you have the original disk and you have un-rar'd the file, it should auto-detect the game ID for you.

If not, use THIS link.

Find the game you want, then just copy the PSX ID from that site into the Game ID in ICETEA.

Hope that helps.
