The main thing to consider when buying a modchip. There are different wii versions and different modchips to go with them. If you just recently bought your wii then you have a D2C or a D2C2 wii, and need a modchip that will work with those. This one will work for D2C and D2C2, just make sure that you dont have an earlier chipset before buying anything. http://www.canadamods.ca/store/index.php...od&productId=49

You can find out what chipset you have by entering your serial number here http://wiitracker.nintendo-scene.com/search.php

Anyway, D2C and D2C2 are different versions of the chip on the driveboard that the modchip connects to. Earlier versions included DMS, D2A and D2B. Some of the D2B chips also had several cut legs on them, making them much more difficult to mod. However, since your wii was bought recently, its almost certenly a D2C. I would still check it before buying anything just to be sure but something like the one I sent the link to is most likely what you're gonna want.

Also, the serial checker isnt very accurate with the newer chipsets, i think it just says 50%/50% which is neither here nor there. Open up your wii and have a look i would say. If it is a d2c, then i would also do a search around as there are some other slight possible differences between the d2c and the d2c2, such a a different drive spindle on some versions....believe me it gets very complicated.

I'd also google some forums too to see what mod chip people have used with serial numbers near your range.

This is all advice from personal experience, as i didnt want to end up with an unusable chip.

Hope this helps
