Does anyone know a program to rename a large bunch of picture files based on the date taken information?

Have tried 'FastStone Photo Resizer', but it does not have the option of renaming on time and date taken.

see if xnview works for you.
When you get to the batch rename box, click on the "insert" box and choose the creation date to be added to the name.
