Just want to send some big thank you's out to all of you who have helped a DVD Dufus figure out how to do this! I've finally been successful in burning some mmpeg movies off of my hard drive to DVD but have noticed a few oddities.

1) One movie I burned was only about 20 min shy of the 2 hr capacity of a DVD but TEMPGEnc Dvd Author told me it was too big to burn. I got some good advice and used DVD shrink to burn the disk and it was successful. Just curious why the Author would tell me it's too big to burn to a DVD.

2) Now this one is a weird one too, I've recently noticed, like in the past month or so that some mpegs that I've downloaded off the net do not seem to be playing to their full capacity. For example, you download a clip that is supposed to be 30 min in length but when you play in Windows Media Player, it shows up with the lenght being stated as maybe a few minute. BUT...after the video freezes at 2 min or so, the audio will often keep going AND when you move the little bar on the bottom of the screen back and forth, all sorts of new video shows up but the pic is just frozen and no audio. Some clips are like this, some aren't! I'm thinking this likely has something to do with my computer but have no idea what!!!!

3) Now this isn't weird but I'm just wondering how to encode and burn a BUNCH of mpegs onto a DVD. Like a group of a dozen or more. The primary tools I have that seem to be working are TEMPGEnc and DVD Shrink. I've got TEMPGEnc DVD author as well.

4) Here's another question, just wondeing if a DVD is essentially like a VHS when it comes to picture quality via recording speed. And if so, how does one adjust this speed to expand the capacity of the DVD? Will a lot of quality be lost? I've burnt only two DVDs successfully but the clips have taken up the capacity of the disk even tho just under 2 hrs.

I sincerely appreciate any help tossed my way!

Regards,

Riz
