Hi, I am trying to burn a PC game onto a DVD-R disc using Alcohol 120 (that's what people said I should use). But when I put the disc in, Both Windows and Alcohol don't seem to be able to read it (it says "no disc" is in).
At first I thought maybe the disc reader wasn't working, but I put in a music CD and it read it.
Any thoughts, please?
first things first welcome to afterdawn, always make sure that you do a search before you post a question. your question has been saked two many times, memorex is ka ka media
I did do a search and I discovered that memorax isn't a good DVDR to use, but I don't think it's the DVD, I think it's the DVD reader.
It reads CDs but not my DVD-R. I'm thinking it might be because my firmware is out of date (if that even makes sense)?
But I couldn't find any upgrades for KDK3 firmware (which is what I currently have).
if you put a dvd movie in your drive will it play the dvd? also have you tryed using a dvd+r in the drive? also did the drive work and thain one day it quit working? if so try doing a system restore to the day before it quit working!

I will try this, thanks.
And Rotary, I have KDK3 firmware but I can't find any upgrades anywhere for it.

Yep. That's what I have.
I tried a verbatim & memorex DVD-R, an Imation DVD+R, & a Sony DVD+RW and none of them were acknowledged by Windows or Alcohol (it said "no disc").
However, both Windows and Alcohol acknowledged a blank Memorex CD-R and a verbatim DVD-RW with a movie on it.
Why would this be?
And how can I erase the movie so I can re-record a game onto the DVD-RW?
