Ok so i just connect a cross over cord to a wireless router to the PC and still use my mobile usb modem into the PC to pick up the internet connection.
I thought you would need to use an ethernet corded broadband for a wireless router to work.
Would the nintendo wi-fi usb stick send my internet conection to the wii?

im not sure what exactly is a mobile modem or how it works, but if its just like a regular modem, then just get a router.

good luck on finding the nintendo wifi usb adapter. they are discontinued.
you need to have cable/dsl to use a wireless router. your current internet setup will not work because routers use ethernet cables.
ps2: v7 scph-39001 - independence exploit - hdloader 0.8c - maxtor 300gb hdd
(+[__]%) psp slim ta-085v1: 6.60 PRO B10
wii (powered by bootmii/priiloader): 4.1u - d2x v10beta53-alt (base 56) - configurable usb loader v70r51/devolution r188 - wd scorpio black 7200rpm 320gig w/ ams venus ds2 enclosure
got a whole lot more to list . . .

I think the router is out of the question yes. The nintendo wi-fi pc sender i can get in austraila, but will it work with mobile broadband?
My mobile broadband seems quick to download music etc
I did a speed test and these are the results

My thoughts were the ping could be a bit high? so could have delay...?
I would be interested to see someone elses results that are wired?

A bit of feed back for anyone wanting to connect Wii online with 3g mobile broadband.
After lots of debate and not being able to get a straight answer from anyone (including Nintendo, game shops and computer stores) its official *Wii ONLINE WORKS WITH MOBILE BROADBAND*
I had to buy the Nintendo Wi-Fi dongle and a USB2.0 pci card (only cause i did'nt have usb2.0) and i was able to connect it and run it on the speeds from my last post.
I cant notice any delays even when playing people from overseas, i would be interested to see if a shoot'm up has a noticeable delay but till then i'll just enjoy Mario Kart (getting beaten at this stage lol)

HEY psi626!
I have been in the same boat as you for ages, trying to find the solution to the wii/wireless broadband problem.
i too have 3 wireless broadband, but i am using the new USB thumbdrive reciever.
can u explain exactly how u set it up to work? i am a relative newbie to networks etc... also where did u manage to get that nintendo wifi adapter from, i have searched ebay and they are non existant.
are they available from anywhere like EB of GAME here in australia? Do u rekkon it would work with a regular wifi reciever? or would the wii only be compatible with the nintendo reciever? because i know that the regular wifi dongles for use wth other consoles are readily available.
any help would be apreciated,
cheers
chondalar

Mate I am not sure if any wifi dongle will work. i bought the nintendo dongle from JB HIFI just to be sure it will work. You need to be running XP for it to operate. My wii was picking up a poor signal so i bought a 5m usb extention to make the dongle closer.
I was told by heaps of people mobile 3 broadband will not work for online gaming, well they were all wrong lol
Enjoy!

I've alos been trying to reserach this for a little while as I have both a WII and a PS3. I have found this Dovado Mobile broadband Router It is a Mobile Broadband Router which allows you to plug the Mobile Broadband device into the back whch will then allow other Wireless devices to connect to it. Although they are around £100 at the moment they are very worth it and clears all wireless problems that many people are having with the Mobile Broadband.
