Im trying to install the 8gb support for firmwares lower than 3.90m33, to do this i must copy the patch file to '/kd' i cant find the kd folder can someone point me in the right direction?
I managed to get my F0 folder with the Psar Dumper
The guide is quite confusing:
* Copy the patch(attached) to /kd folder
* Add the following line in all pspbtcnf*.txt file: "/kd/mspatch.prx" after the line "/kd/msstor.prx"
Could you tell me what to do, i have a mspatch.prx file and and src folder but i dont understand those instructions, the second part i dont understand?? :s
Right, as i havn't seen the exact guide your using, i cannot give you exact instructions, but here is how i expect you should do it based on the info you have given.
1. Get the 3.90 upgrade eboot and put it into the root of you MS. Run PSAR dumper, and then reconnect your PSP to your PC via the USB connection. You should now see a folder in the root of you MS called f0. Copy this folder and paste it to your desktop. Enter the folder on your desktop, then the folder called KD and find the file you want and copy it.
2. Switch off your PSP completely (ie.not to standby - to do this, simply hold the power switch up until all the lights stop flashing on the PSP). Now enter recovery mode by switching the PSP back on whilst holding the R trigger button. Go to ADVANCED, then select TOGGLE USB (FLASH0). you will now see the KD folder. enter this, and paste the file you copied into there. Press BACK on your PSP, the EXIT. Your PSP should now boot as normal to the XMB.
That should be it.
HOWEVER, as stated, i have not seen the guide, and i have never installed this patch, so i cannot guarantee this is the right way. This is how i installed the FATMSMOD.prx, so im guessing it should be more or less the same. If you want to post the guide you are using before you do it i will have a look and confirm it for you though!

No Instructions are included with it other than the above..
Also as i have a Slim Psp, it says i must have 1.50 kernel add-on but i cant find any for the slim psp Im currently on version 3.71 m33-4 which is the required version to run Mgs Psx on PSP properly. Hope this info narrows it down.
Unfortunately, as you have a slim you cannot install this patch. I have had a read of the link you posted and you definitely cannot do this without the 1.50 kernel, which cannot be installed on a slim (unless using time-machine...but that wont help here as you want to run 3.71 for MGS).
I have also done some research for you and i cannot find any patch that does not require the 1.50 kernel.
Have you tried the card and had issues? as i have read a few reports saying that they have used a 8gb card on lower FW's without the patch and everything has run as it fine.
The best thing i can recommend is that you update to 3.90 M33-3, and then install the POPSLOADER plugin. POPSLOADER will allow you to run MGS using the 3.71 POPS (playstation1 emulation) files even though you are on 3.90. HERE is a guide to install POPSLOADER.
I have played MGS on 3.71 M33-4 and had no issues, so you should be fine using the 3.71 POPS.
