ok so i have a sh-d163b drive i just got from eBay. i am trying to back up my games but when i open up xbc the start button is grayed out. i have been reading post all over the web and have not found any way to get this thing to work. my next idea is to buy a new sata card but before i do i would like to see if any one else has fixed this problem?
so far i have tried unplugging all the ide drives although the sh-d163b is on a sata. i have read some where that via sata cards don't work with kreon drives don't know if thats true? i have tried updating my drive but sfdnwin says that my drive is incompatible with the firm ware. i have tried the other ripping software but it tels me it cant get feature list from drive
any help here would be hot!

Which FW version do you have on the drive? 1.0?

i have found an interesting post on how to flash my firm ware by using the -nocheck command and i also found that my dvd drive is a ts-h353b and its flashed to sh-d163b. i tried to re flash it to sh-d163b but the flash fail. im am at wits end should i by a new sata card or new kreon drive?
