I know this has been floating around lately but i couldnt search a good answer. So heres the deal

The gf has a japanese wii thats modded with many games that seem to work and run fine. (dont know what kinda chip). Anywho, Purchased some new backedup games, Smash Bros. being one of them as it works and runs fine, with some booting problems. As we tried Mario Kart...the system wouldnt read the disc but it attempted to do some sort of system update i think. (text was in japanese). Now the system wont load up. Yep, just a black screen as i turn it on. Wont even get to the warning safety screen. System still ejects the disc. Wiimote wont sync as it just flash all 4 blue lights. Is the system screwed or is there hope? Please help

You get the black screen when booting the game or the Wii itself?

If your booting to the black screen after turning on the Wii then you have fully bricked your Wii system with an out of region update.

As of now there is no fix for this issue.

You should have done your homework before playing an Imported game on the system. To late now you have no options at this time.

your system is practically a $250 brick. like larrylje said, there's no solution, right now, to fix it.

only way around bricks is if you can bypass the wii software (like pandora's battery for psp, or JTAG for certain hardware). but there is nothing like that for the wii.

only thing to do is get a new wii.

ps2: v7 scph-39001 - independence exploit - hdloader 0.8c - maxtor 300gb hdd
(+[__]%) psp slim ta-085v1: 6.60 PRO B10
wii (powered by bootmii/priiloader): 4.1u - d2x v10beta53-alt (base 56) - configurable usb loader v70r51/devolution r188 - wd scorpio black 7200rpm 320gig w/ ams venus ds2 enclosure

got a whole lot more to list . . .
