problem with d2pro9 5wire install

i installed the d2pro9 chip works great. now for the problem last night the chip stopped working. when i turn the wii on, the chips red light comes on and stays on. will not eject disc. so i powered off the wii took it apart and checked all the connections ground and power, all seem to be fine no loose connections or cold solders. now if i power the wii up. the red light comes on and stays on. now if i push down on the corner where the the cable connector is , the red light goes off and the blue light flickers. and everything works great. it seems that by the little flex of the pcb turns the chip on. i tested over end over and it worked great well today turned on and red light disc will not eject or accept a disc. is this a problem with the chip, has anyone heard this before, do you know how to fix or does the chip need to be replaced?
