I just got a psp slim with the firmware version 3.90. I want to get some custom firmware on it. I was going to buy a tool battery, but I need to know if I can make the MMS by connecting my psp to my computer via usb cable. The reason I ask is because I read somewhere that the psp slim can't MMSs. Is that true? If so what are my options.

The slim can make Magic Memory Sticks Perfectly, see THIS guide to do it. Or, if you have a friend who already has a CFW PSP you can use THIS guide which will mean you dont have to buy a TOOL battery.

the new slims (possibly the ones with 3.80 and all 3.90) CANNOT flash a battery into pandora's battery. sony prevented the motherboard from flashing.

only the original 3.60 and early 3.71(?) slims can flash batteries.
