A friend of mine has a major problem with their PSP.
They inserted a Marvel Demo UMD Disc (Vol 1 apparently) and it asked to update their PSP - what the update was - be it FW or other, I don;t know, but since then, their PSP has no power.
I have charged the battery for them, tried plugging it in without their battery using their AC Adapter and my AC Adapter, tried my own charged batteries, and also charged their battery overnight, placed theirs in and tried.
No power, no orange light or green light. No lights at all.
I've had a look on some forums, apparently (apart from the fact its now bricked) it could be the cable from the AC Adapter that connects to the motherboard within the PSP.
Pressing the R button wont work of course as a) theres no power whatsoever, and b) they are on OFW.
Any serious non jaded "you have a brick" replies would be massively appreciated hehe.
I am going to ask them to call Sony for troubleshooting, but English is a second language, and they are not confident that they will get the help that they can understand.
you will need to buy a datel tool battery to use this (there about £15 around).
if your psp is less than one year old then its coverd buy warranty so you can have it replaced for free you will need to ring sony or go on there web site so you can get someone too replace it.
if you want cfw then go with the pandoras and if your psp is more than a year old use pandoras as sony will charge you more than it cost to buy the datel tool battery.
One question though - if there is no power to it, (not even orange light) how will the datel tool boot up the psp?
I have a pandora's battery that I have tried, but as it does not boot up at all, it;s not giving me a chance to go in to boot from it.
(hence pressing the "R" that would bring up recovery menu or anything - it wont bring up menus as there is no power at all - no start up hardware noise or anything....
Thanks though - hope there's some other ideas people can give me..
