I was trying to help a fried install a wiikey when I found the three cut legs on a d2b board. I ground down the Ic and still cant get the 3 legs hooked back up. Is there a Wii-clip or whatever that I can use with the wiikey We already have, so I dont have to mess with the cut legs??? The wii still works and reads original discs.
thanks

just keep grinding down with a blade eventually ule reveal the traces , dont be affraid to scrape, just do it gentle,i modded my d2b cut legs with wiikey after only a bit of practice .ive only chipped 2 wiis.

but, u should be able to get a keyclip somewhere if you are too nervous to solder/scrape

I did do that and soldered everything up. the wires on the ic are still touching. Im not that good. I want to just unsolder and solder the wiikey in a wiiclip and then install that way. will that work. I want to make sure it will work that way before I buy something else for this guy.

well i think even if u solder to a clip then clip to the drive chip , there is still going to be the 3 legs that wont be touching the clip, i think, i dont know alot about clips sorry

Even the cut leg chips have some leg protruding - enough for a clip it seems.

The bigger question is how will the clip fare with the dremel-excavated chip?
