Sony DRU-510a Burned DVD Read Errors

I just bought a Sony DVD burner and have been using Showbiz to capture video clips in MPEG-2 format. Then I have created a number of menus with buttons for these video clips using SonicMYDVD. The disks burn fine (almost always). The problem is that some of the buttons do not work. The confusing part is that they work on some DVD computer readers and some DVD players and not others. And they do not play consistantly - they will play one day but not the next. I have tried using cheap DVDs, Memorex DVDs, DVD-R, DVD-RW. As a high school teacher I am trying to use these video clips in the classroom, so far, with little success. Any help you could give me on how to get thes DVDs working would be most appreciated.
