I have a Matshita cd-rw cw7586 and nero 5 burning program. I have been burning music for a long time but now the drive will not recognise the blank cd. I keeps coming up with "please insert a blank cd". I have tried a lot of different brands of cd and have uninstalled nero and reinstalled it. Nothing seems to work. As i said i have not had this problem before. Can anyone offer any suggestions? I would appreciate any replys.

Have you tried updating your ASPI? An out of date or corrupt ASPI can cause many many problems. Here's a good guide:

Thanks for the help, but as i have never done this before could you please tell me what folder to unzip the files to? I have downloaded from the site.

You should be able to unzip to the same folder you downloaded to and run the install MS-DOS batch file from there. After you do this you can run the ASPICHK.EXE (should be in the same folder) to confirm the install was successful. Let us know if this helps :)
