Hey again

Got another question - this time I've ripped (after many failed attempts) a DVD that was badly scratched towards the end of the movie. When viewing the actual VOB from the damaged area, it's obvious that there's some break-up/distortion/whatever you want to call it.

When TMPG gets to the point where the errors start, it crashes. I've heard you can "check for bad frames" and repair them to get around this, but I don't see such an option anywhere in DVD2AVI or TMPG, so I was wondering if someone could point me to whatever program I need to do this.

Thanks.

OK..How are you encodeing these VOB files in TMPGEnc?? are you loading them directly into TMPGEnc or are you useing the Proper Method of Useing "DVD2AVI" to make a D2V file and frame serve to TMPGEnc??? To Check for bad Frames with Vob/Mpeg files not simple..What you can try is to load the VOB files into "Virtual Dub-Mpeg2" and use the scan for errors Option and then Frame serve the Files to TMPGEnc..You have to Frame serve the Files to TMPGEnc because Virtual Dub does not support Rendering to Mpeg only to AVI..(Unless of cource you have the Ympeg Plugin installed)....You can download Virtual-Dub-Mpeg2 here:

AC3ACM Decompressor

Also download and Install the AC3ACM Decompressor...
