i know this has probably already been answered in the stickys, but i looked there and downloaded a million things and nothing will run on my psp.. so ill explain my situation and hopefully someone can help..

i just bought a psp slim and it seems to have ofc 3.71.. i want to get cfw for 3.xx so i can run a snes emulator.

every updater i try to download and run says that "error 80020148 the game could not be started"
it does that for everything i try... please some help

EDIT: i had a psp fat before, and my friend modded it, and he said there was no hard mod needed for it.. so there should be no hardmod needed for psp slim too right? i dont want to take apart my battery .. is there any soft mods for it?

you CANNOT update straight to custom firmware. you MUST USE pandora's battery and magic memory stick on any psp running 3.51 or higher official firmware, and ALL psp slims.

you will either have to hardmod your battery or buy the datel TOOL battery online.

use THIS guide to get custom firmware.

ps2: v7 scph-39001 - independence exploit - hdloader 0.8c - maxtor 300gb hdd
(+[__]%) psp slim ta-085v1: 6.60 PRO B10
wii (powered by bootmii/priiloader): 4.1u - d2x v10beta53-alt (base 56) - configurable usb loader v70r51/devolution r188 - wd scorpio black 7200rpm 320gig w/ ams venus ds2 enclosure

got a whole lot more to list . . .

if you hardmod, you will have to resolder the pin back to make it normal.

It would boot into service mode. You have to have another battery or unmod your current 1.

Or you could make a one of these http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/580254 (basically an extension to Pandoras battery) so that your normal battery operates fine, when you need to launch Pandora all you do is hold the R (or L cant remember) button when powering on. Otherwise it will boot as normal.
