I Have the Wii since a year and a half or so and it worked perfectly until today...
I just modded my Wii 2 days ago and the 1st day it was working perfectly (I got the d2ckey), backups and original games were working perfectly.
Today I just turned on the Wii and in the Wii menu it showed me that Mario Kart (original) was inside, but I didn't play it, I just ejected it and inserted a few other games that the Wii wouldn't read either from the Wii menu or the disc menu...
I tried to put Mario Kart back and it just didn't work, tried to power off and power on again, disconecting from energy source and everything, tried again many different games (backups and originals) and it just didn't work...
What could it be the problem?,
*The mod-chip got a firmware problem
*The mod-chip got a hardware problem
*The lens of my Wii stopped working (suddenly)
*I got some kind of software block by the internet (my Wii is always connected to the internet, so could they have blocked me via internet?)
If the chip has become somehow disconnected on (say) 1 wire out of 13... who knows how the drive will behave in that situation?
Could it be that the modchip was resting on a component on the DVD board that has pierced any barrier (like PVC insulating tape - the right stuff to use for a barrier insulation in this circumstance is kaplan tape since it's much harder to pierce than PVC)
