Is there a reliable store/shop that can fix broken LCD screens? It's not just a crack; the damage is actually on the inside of the LCD screen, you know, where the liquid crystals are. When you turn the PSP on, the only thing visible is the black screen and the scattered liquid crystals that resulted from the crack. I can't properly describe it so I took a picture of it:
As you can see, it's a really nasty crack. >_< The PSP itself still works, though. I've called SONY about the issue, and told me that their warranty doesn't cover crack LCD screens, and that if I want them to fix it, it'll cost me $89.00 USD. I thought that's a bit too much (or is it?) considering that Slim PSPs already cost $170 USD.
So, is there another way to fix it? Like, is there a reliable shop that deals with these kinds of problems for a lot less? I would really appreciate any help. Thank you very much in advance.
Well, a new screen, at the absolute cheapest, is around $65. It's up to you to decide whether professional manufacturer installation is worth the extra $24. I suggest you take Sony up on the offer, but try to get them to do it for free, ie. say it came like that, or use the distributer warranty instead of the manufacturers.
this is no1 in simple things that you can fix your self.
iv fix 2 in the past and there so easy
basicly you just unscrew the faceplate and then take the screen out. unclip the screen ribbons. clip the new one back in and then screew the faceplate back on.
i did mange to get a screen for £25 which wasnt to bad its well worth it
I think you got a fat screen. The slim screens sell for about twice that. I say go with Sony, because even if you do get your screen replaced, there's gonna be some dust under the screen, which is annoying.
