It seems every new version of the xbox is to reduce heat from the GPU. These have less chance of RROD.

the board designs still have problems, and i assure you microsoft has givne up fixing this thing, and has started to develop the next system. they will still come up with "cheap ways" to prevent it when you send it in for repair. and im sure they will continue to add useless peices of metal to the board till they cant fit anymore, but the RROD problem will never go away.

Biggest probelm I think is to teach the workers how to apply thermal grease.

agreed. they just put a big glop of thermal compound, then just set the heatsinks. wrong

you need to put the right amount. bb size will do. spreading it out against the die is highly recommended.
