So over the past few days I have certainly read alot about modding, so I come here with knowledge, yet a few unanswered questions. I have been able to find a few chip sites offer a mild selection, however I am still open to reccommendations. Those I have looked at are: modchipoutlet, ps2cover, easybuy2000, and foundmy. Any reccommendations from people?
On to the chip itself... I was initially leaning towards the dms4 solderless, but after reading considerable negative comments on it, I have decided against it. I wanted to do it initially since it appeared that ToxicOS had the most wide-ranging game compatibility. Is there a solderable version or is it easy to convert the solderless to solder?
Outside of the dms4, I have looked at modbo, crystal-chip, magic, and the Duo. I really have no preference as to what homebrew can be installed. Like most modchippers, I just want to be able to install to hdd (I have a working fat v7 w/ network adapt) and play from hdl or hda.
Also, with a modchip installed, it appeared relatively easy to get a hd manager onto the system. Do I need to use any fancy MC exploits or PS1 disk exploits when to get stuff onto the hdd with a modchip. Im pretty sure I dont... just wanted to clear it up.
Feedback is appreciated very much. Thanks.
I use the original MC EXPLOIT to run games from the HD. I used HDloader.elf, works great and it's free. I have had no problems w/games loading from the HD or Backup discs using the MC.
