hi ive recently had a wiikey fitted to my wii, my old back up games work fine on it, but im wondering that if i want to play a new pal game on my pal wii and it asks to update my wii, can this semi-brick/brick my wii if i have not got the latest update for my wiikey?
Also do i have to upgrade the wiikey if im only planning on using pal back-ups,

You NEVER have to worry about updating in your region. If you have a Pal wii it is the NTSC and Jap games you have to watch out for.

thanks that was very useful, also another question for what reasons will i have to update my wiikey?or will it be ok to leave it at the version it is which i think is the first version as i have not done any upgrades on it.thanks

compatibility with newer games and/or newer firmware on the Wii. Better to upgrade the WiiKey first then the Wii itself from what I read here (and in other places)
