I have modded loads of PSP's but never a PS2, i have searched but it only turned up what seemed (to me) to be out of date.

Could anyone supply a link to what i need to do to Allow me to play PS2 back ups? I have a slim PS2 but no idea on Mother board (or whether that is even relevant!) or other specifics.

I know this is likely to be the top 10 of questions asked so take pity on a noob! Lol

Many Thanks

Thanks Both - I thought i could chip it though? I would prefer a hard mod if its possible.

What chip do i need if it is possible?

I've just started looking into this myself, and as far as I can tell your best bet would be a DMS4 Pro (not the solderless versions, as by all accounts they're highly unreliable), Matrix Infinity, or Crystal 2.0 Pro. Those seem to run between $50 - $60. On the cheaper end of the scale, there're a lot of clones of the Matrix Infinity that are apparently pretty high quality, such as the Modbo 4.0, which runs around $25 - $35. The Duo 3 Ultra also seems decent, though not as good as the Modbo, and will usually go for $20 - $30.

With all of these, of course, you'll want to find out your PS2 version and check to be sure the chip is compatible. There are also several chips sold as fixes for some problems with the laser on later PS2 versions, though I'm not sure if those problems are caused by the system being chipped or if they're flaws already present in the system.

If you just want a reliable chip to play backups without all the fancy options at a good price try the M-7 chip http://www.world-chip.com/
many to choose from and reliable I've had the matrix infnity and this but I dont use the extra stuff so for me no difference.
