(help) Video using an unsupported codec?

I'm not computer savvy, so I hope the title of this thread was somewhat correct. I've been trying to watch a video a friend sent me, but the screen in Windows Media Player is all black. I've downloaded the AVIcodec and put the file into the box to see the specs, and here they are:
File : 28 MB (28 MB), duration: 0:00:59, type: AVI, 1 audio stream(s), quality: 94 %, ,
Video : 27 MB, 3842 Kbps, 29.865 fps, 640*480 (4:3), IV50 = Intel Indeo R5.0, Unsupported
Audio : 1.26 MB, 176 Kbps, 22050 Hz, 1 channels, 0x1 = PCM, CBR, , Supported
I couldn't find any Intel Indeo or IV50 codecs on the list, I'm wondering if anyone can help me figure out how to fix this file so I can watch it.. :)

Please help me...
I am trying to run some .avi files using wmp 11 the progress bar progresses show the files's duration but no video only black screen.
The AVIcodec Showing:
File : 9.30 MB (9.30 MB), duration: 0:00:10, type: AVI, 0 audio stream(s), quality: 80 %, ,
Video : 9.30 MB, 7808 Kbps, 25.0 fps, 720*576 (5:4), IGA1 = Unknown, Unsupported
Another File:
File : 14.89 MB (14.89 MB), duration: 0:00:20, type: AVI, 0 audio stream(s), quality: 80 %, ,
Video : 14.88 MB, 6244 Kbps, 25.0 fps, 720*576 (5:4), TV50 = Unknown, Unsupported
What to do?
