I've been using PVPVideo9 for a long time now to watch all my dvd rips on my psp. Waaaay back when I first bought the PSP I also bought the UMD movie "House of the Flying Daggers" It looks simply STUNNING when played on the PSP.
The movies rips on the memory card, while looking good enough, aren't even close to UMD quality, but back then with only 1 gb cards you had to sacrifice to fit the movies files on the stick.
But NOW, with 4gb and 8gb cards, we can have huge movie files, but I still see no way to transfer a HIGH quality copy of a movie to a card.
The highest settings I found in PSPVideo9 still are quite compressed.
It seems to me if we can rip complete games off a UMD we could rip complete movies also with no compression, no?
I know the odds are I'm missing something or some software that does this, but is there some way to get a DVD quality video file to a large memory stick?
you can put and run umd video on the new cfw 3.71m33+ there about 1.6gb in size where as dvd rips are about 500-700mb in size.
if you want dvd quality from a dvd then you will need audio and 48.000khz and a 148kbps bit rate.
video will be at a bit rate of 1200kbps or 1500kbps 1500 is good and a screen size of about 320x240
that will be umd video quality but umd and dvds have a buffer rate so it will never be as good as it can be compressed more with a buffere rate and it can run smoother.
