it depends on where the prong broke and if you know how to solder.

You could aways purchase the battery charger that holds the battery itself and plugs into a wall outlet. I believe most retailers are still selling them, I'm not sure if there is a difference in the charger for fat and slim batteries though, so you might want to check the package first.

To seed or not to seed is that the Question?

as with any item that requires the power source from an outlet, it is truly.....unsafe, (particularly in this case)to repair said 'prong.'

if the wire itself, was damaged....yes that can safely be done....but again, you truly need to know what your doing...and how do solder. BUT i strongly reccomend......as its the prong.....you not attempt this. Though costly......it has the potentical...to be far less costly...to simply purchase a new..charger.

Yes, i do a lot of wireing.....and yes, know what im talking about. Please, avoid this 'fix.' Though, indeed.....your call.

ok.....wait! i have one....safe....suggestion. if you know how to read....whats on the adapter.....the info....and can locate..an 'exact' same......adapter......(might find it at a thrift store...often then have a box of adapters) BUT...ensure....the info is IDENTICAL>>>>>>>>noooooooooo difference!!!!! take the ruined one with you......and CHECK.

IF, you are successful....then cut the wire on both...a fair distance FROM the adapter. FIRST......mark one side..of the dual (if its like that and i hope it is....) wire with a felt pen. lay them both out.....in the same direction...the exact same way....side by each. This ensures its done accurately.

Once done......strip the wires.....and use caution. any missing wire from the inside...can result in umm "bad news huh" so....at that point....you now connect.....the felt marked wire.....with the 'other' felt marked wire. the unmarked to the unmarked. And....solder each. you must do this in order for the wires to make a proper conduct. You risk 'shorts' if you dont.

Dont whatever you do.......cut away allllllll the felt marked indication you have previously done. so ensure......you make the mark long!!!!!

Now, DONT let the raw wires touch. either wrap them with electrical tape.....seperately. OR....i have found (though again, ensure done in a well covered way.....) hot glue the wire. this provides proteciton.....and the insulation required on each wire. if you were successful......it should work. if not...well, you now have some experience and know how for something else.....and it only cost you a buck or two..to find out.

IF,,,,,you are working with, a single solid wire FROM the adapter..you naturally do not....have to mark with felt. Though, the remaining process is the same.

Good luck :)

the call to follow the instruction....is all yours along with...any unpleasent results lol.

just being clear.

The charge can be fixed, by purchasing a new PSP powerboard and connecting it to the main PSP motherboard, these cost about £30 and arent such a pain to fit.

Look the peice that broke is a little yellow square that had 2 wires that has a connecter at the end that "plugs" into the maid board, this peice is held in by one screw its relitivley easy to replace its one of the first things you see when you crack open the psp (you will void your warrenty) but if you dont have a recipt then somy wont work with you at all...
if you need help with replaceing this i can walk you thru the whole 5 min (at most) process its easy even for a NooB

Been a LONG time since I been here.I even forgot I posted this! lol.Anyway so I found a solution for now.I am able to put prong back in(doesnt stay in.)but as long as I set the charger in nice an dont move it I can charge it.BTW I already voided warranty I think(CFW lol).

thanks for all the replies guys, appreciate it!

Also to not make your replies worthless.I know about that the yellow part can be replaced,I would just rather not open psp though.

Also "mom123" I believe you are reffering to the actual charger. That was not the problem,it was the little prong the charger goes into, inside psp.

If its just the metal prong that is inside the yellow ring on the bottom right dont worry. If you're using CFW then go into your config menu and set it to charge from a USB. Just means u have to charge from ur comp.

All you got to do is replace the entire power charge port. I just bought one from a certain auction site for seven bucks.

I've done the same thing myself. It's not hard to do. No soldering is involved.
