Ok, this is my first guide, so here it goes. If you want to play PSX Eboots on a PSP, you just put them on the PSP and play, right, no big deal? WRONG! If you want to play a PSX game with more than one disc, like Final Fantasy 7, you need to combine them into one file; but don't worry, it can be done in a couple of minutes in three easy steps, even a noob can do it.

You will need the following programs:

IMG Burn
Impaler PSX

Step 1

Get the discs of the game you need and install img burn. img burn is incredibly simple and easy to use. Use img burn to make an .iso of each of the discs you will need.

Step 2

Download Impaler PSX and extract it somewhere on your computer. Like img burn, Impaler PSX is incredibly simple to use. Use impaler PSX to combine the files into 1 eboot

Step 3

Now you're done, easy right, NOW you can put it on your PSP and play it

Obviously this guide has been simplified to make it incredibly easy to understand, you knew that right? If you're not a total noob then you know that there's more to it than this, like icons, more advanced stuff, but for all the noobs that are going to read this, this should be enough. If they don't experiment and work with the programs on their own, they'll never learn and they'll be stuck on guides forever; so actually, this kind of guide helps noobs more than an incredibly detailed guide would.

Oh, and by the way, i'm not really a newbie, it only says that because i've just recently registered with this site.

Thanks for your help with this process. I tried it and it seemed to work. I created the images from my game cd, Metal Gear and then I converted it to an eboot. I put it into my psp and all seem to work until I started a new game. A new mgs screen appeared and it said insert disc 1. Do you think I did something wrong? and if I did, how can I fix this. I can probably play the game with two separate eboots, but I wished I could just merge the two together. Make it a lot easier.

Thanks again, I really appreciate your help

When it says Please insert disc 1, press the home menu button on your psp and it should say change disc or swap disc but you mite hav to hav 3.71 software. Its piece of piss to upgrade just type the firmware number thingy into google but to downgrade is harder. You need Hellfox recovery flasher. Once you download it put the recovery folder into the game folder in PSP. Download the 3.71 update and extract the EBOOT.pdp folder and rename it 371.pdp and put it into your recovery folder. Make sure you back up everyfile you hav on the PSP to your PC. Then run the program under GAME on your PSP follow instructs and flash 3.71. this may brick your psp. (meaning your turn it on and the screen stays black and the green light stays on then it turns itself off) If this happens eject your memory stick and your psp should start. Then go to settings and find format memory stick. Insert your memory stick and format it. This will delete your whole memory but youve got it backed up on your PC right... then you should still hav 3.71 firmware m33-4 and it should play metal gear and every single other PSX game. Then when it says insert disc 1 you can press home and bam swap discs and hey presto its blast furnace time!! Also if you download the right Hellfox it will also give you a little bit of instructional help!! Cheers!

Thank you and goodnight

Ok so I tried this all out and everything was working until i got the game converted to a WinRAR file (which is what's needed for the ImpalerPSX). ImpalerPSX was working before i got the game converted.

Ive tried downloading it again after deleting it once, and it is now saying "ImpalerPSX is not a valid Win32 application". Does anybody know how i can fix this problem?

-Thanks a million if you can.
