Please help me because i spilt soda on my psps and it doesnt work now!

WEll one day iwas stupid and in the car, i picked up a soda, like the cup at mcdonalds, anyway it went on my psp. It charges after i left it to dry overnight. Well the battery side umd slot, SLIM, and screen are dry. What i am wondering is if i unscrew the opposite side of the battery, you know the right of the umd slot, will anything pop out or will it break completely? Also i have an alternative, my friend will sell me his phat psp for 50$.
