Greetings all. First time poster here! Been searching through past posts to avoid opening this thread but have been unable to find one so far. Please forgive me if I have overlooked any.

Hope someone will be able to help me.
I have a NEC DVD_RW ND-3500AG with which I have never had any problems whatsoever burning with any media up until I bought a 100pack of Verbatim Advanced AZO+ DVD-R 16X.

All attempts end in coasters so I decided to flash the firmware (which i have avoided doing through fear of killing the drive) to v.2.1b which i believe is the most recent one. Still no success.
My final attempt seemed promising up until I tried to check the disk burn was good. The system got all sluggish (which occurs everytime I try to access the disk after a burn) & I'm forced to manually restart the machine as it wont respond.

My attempts at burning have never been any less than maximum speed up until I came across this problem, so reading up on forums, decided to attempt on 4X & 8X but still no joy.

I have only ever used Nero 6.6.0.14, which again, has never given any problems.

pleaaaase anyone help!!!

Apologies if I dragged on a bit, just wanted to give all possible information regarding this. Please bear with me as media burning is not my speciality, but i know enough to get by.

Thanks in advance to everyone :D

P.s I also tried to copy stuff from the disk in safe mode & got "Data error (cyclic redundancy error)" if it helps...

How old is this burner?

I think it's a case of simply your burner doesn't agree with the media.

Thx for replying :)
If that is a common issue, then its a good possibility. I bought this burner back in 2003 approx. Windows detects the disk alright & everything's fine up until I burn it.
