I am getting a wii modchip. Will I be able to play any wii game PAL or NTSC? Also, how do you make a backup cd of original wii games and play those backups?

How about using search. All these questions have been asked and answered. Most of them are answered in the ultimate sticky thread. Being a member you should know this already.

You can't downgrade it.

The only issue the new 3.3 firmware has done was close the TP hack and some homebrew. It has not effected Modchips and playing of backups.

If I get imported games to play on my modded wii, will there be a possible brick?

Is there a way to prevent this? Will playing imported games from the same region prevent from wii brick? thx.

If the game is from a different region to your Wii there is a risk of bricking (that is - if you allow a non-native disc to update your console). If they're the same region then the risk is eliminated (unless there's a fault with the update during the update etc)

At least he asked all the newbie questions in the same thread. Way better than the people who start separate threads for every question. Or, even worse, multiple threads for the same question. lol

I heard that there are different modchips for different versions of wii. Can anyone please enlighten me about which modchips are for which wii versions.

Again use search. Larry already has answered that in a thread a while ago.
